Home Work

Parents can act early in their child's school career to encourage school perseverance and prevent dropping out. When they get involved from the start and follow their child's academic progress, parents give him the desire to learn and persevere.

Does your child have difficulty reading or learning their multiplication tables? Does homework and lesson time systematically turn into a conflict? As a parent, do you feel helpless? You don't know how to help her? Do not worry ! Several resources and organizations exist and are there to help you support your child well and better supervise the period of homework and lessons.

To remember

  • Parents have an important role to play in helping their child stay in school.
  • Having reading difficulties, a learning disability, a behavioral problem or parents who do not value school are among the risk factors for dropping out of school.
  • Speaking positively about school, congratulating your child for his efforts and paying attention to his behavior and academic results are good ways to promote motivation and prevent school dropout.
